General update

The Newmaforma had a good weekend with just a few visitors. A and I both appreciate people calling first as it is tough for both of us to focus for very long. Between my pain killers and chronic napping and her taking care of me, herself, the house, work and a gigantic growing baby, we both get wiped out quickly entertaining guests even with simple conversation.

It was nice to catch up with friends and see babies in our house as get a feel for what it will be like in a few months. J & S came down from Seattle and Little E was a champ at showing us how to toddler proof the house. The coffee was great and A was out this morning with what she skimmed from my french press in her new mini-commuter mug.

Hannah Montana at one month old showed us who is boss in her household! Chewey is an awesome dad and I really dug seeing him smile while holding his new daughter. H will probably kick our kids @ss growing up as Tiny will be just that and H will look more like Donna from "That 70's show".

The weather was awesome all weeked and A got me out on the sidewalk to play with the dog and catch up with the neighbors. The common comment or question centered around me "Finally learning to not ride a bike anymore." In a nutshell that logic is horse shit. One neighbor was in a serious car accident last fall. A week later they were driving again and still do. I googled some stats and the unsuprising conclusion is that the most dangerous thing an American can do is get into a car. Honestly I am more anxious to take Tiny for rides next spring than about getting fit enough to race or do big rides again. I think it will floor the neighbors when they see the Newmaforma ride to and from the grocery store with Jr. in this thing.

A is getting bigger almost by the day. Tiny has all his appendages and now is just getting bigger and bigger when he's not kicking A in the bread basket. I feel like a complete pig having her take care of my every request. On the bright side that is good motivation to get back to walking. I have another 6 weeks before that starts so in the meantime the focus is on range of motion without any weight bearing. All this means I am more and more mobile in the wheelchair so I can do a little to help A out and lesson the pressure of her having to totally do everything for me. Stuff like putting on my own clothes, being able to open my pill bottles and type (now with both hands!) to keep myself occupied has allowed her to rest and take care of herself like a normal pregnant woman should.

Hopefully this week the handicapped parking pass will arrive and then we can hit the baby stores to register for all the gear necessary to raise a child. Apparently, hot wheels and wood working tools are not age appropriate.

That will be neat to see you and Tiny go for a ride to the store in that sweet bike!
